The Payette Scenic Byway
Eight major airlines service the Boise airport located south of McCall. From Boise you can enjoy the drive up highway 55 along the scenic Payette River or continue by air to the McCall airport.
From Boise, Highway 55 takes you due north along the Payette Scenic Byway. The highway runs along side and crosses back and forth over the sometimes crashing, sometimes meandering waters of the Payette River.
Keep your eyes open for white water rafters, kayakers, occasional wildlife and the beauty of the steep, forest canyons. It's a drive that locals take for fun as much as for transportation.
